Historic Sites
If theres one thing we love its history. The Riverview Hotel being its own part of history its hard not to be. If you want to see some historical land marks around town then check out “The Old Fort Park”, “The Sugar Mill Ruins” additionally Canal street and Flagler Avenue retain their own historical relevance worth noting. If you want to see some history while relaxing on the beach, dune park is not only home to the National guard but has the most beautiful view of the Ponce Inlet light house. Lastly no historical visit would be complete without a visit to the New Smyrna Beach History Museum.
Beaches
New Smyrna Beach has some of the most amazing beach’s in Florida. Starting with the closest, The Riverview Hotel is walking distance to the beach located directly at the end of Flagler Ave. The perfect way to see the beach while getting to explore all the food options and shopping along the way. This driving friendly beach tends to be the most popular due to its easy accessibility
If your looking for a truly unique beach going experience, you can not go wrong with Dune Park. Its one of kind location means you can’t experience it anywhere else. Located at the very north end of New Smyrna beach, not only is it a dog friendly environmental preserve but its geologically rounded formation gives changing sites as you walk along the beach. Not to mention its home to the National Guard and an incredible view of the Ponce Inlet Light House.
On the complete opposite side of New Smyrna, at the most southern point is the Canaveral National Seashore. This beach is part of a massive protected national park. Guest can pay a fee to access this environmental beauty at the park entrance. Nature lovers will be in heaven as you can explore all of the beautiful natural habitats for miles.
Dining and Shopping
If you love shopping and eating then you’ve come to the right place. New Smyrna Beach offers more than just beaches and history, often missed by people that simply come for the beach then leave, we have amazing options for shopping and eating no matter what time of day. Aside from our very own world class dining at The Grille At Riverview and The Mermaid cafe, you can also try all the restaurants located on Flagler Avenue, all easily walkable. We recommend checking out Third Wave, The Avanu on Flagler, Breakers, Tin and Taco, Crabby’s bar and Grille, and Flagler Tavern. and if you fill like driving a very short distance check out Canal Street which is also fill with many excellent choices for shopping and dining.

New Smyrna Beach is home to some of the best events in Florida. Through out the entire year there seems to always be something happening around town.
